About Us

Our Commitment

Return on Investment [ROI] and Impact Returns [ IRR].

Our Vision

Clean African Homesteads, Robust Biodiversity Habitats, Ecosystems
and Sustainably Employed Custodian Communities.

Our Mission

To mobilize Climate Finance at scale to help halt and reverse Domestic
Regional and Global Habitat And Ecosystem Degradation.

What We Do

1. Our Regional Environmental Commodity Exchanges are structured and designed to unlock bottlenecks and barriers to trading at scale in Decarbonization, Green Transition and related Environmental Commodities.

2. Through our licensed Trading Member Companies [ TMCs], we prepare and cause the Certification of Country Lead Agencies to issue investment grade and therefore Tradable MTNs, Bonds and related instruments targeting Domestic Regional and Global Homesteads, as well as Private Institutional Climate Finance and investment at scale.

3. Our TMCs such as Old Mutual also have access to a dedicated Project Habitat Inc Product Pipeline of new Asset Class Groups for securitization and listing.

4. Medium-Term Note (MTN) Information and Product Memoranda [ IMs) are world class - where design and development is supported by certified specialists so that the resulting climate finance and ecosystem investments provide measurable impact returns and achieve optimal market pricing to the Investor groups as well as the nations which own and have legal responsibility for the Domestic and Regional Carbon sinks.

Our Story

Established by Africans working in the Capital Markets Industry space, Private and PPP sectors, Project Habitat Inc is the holding company for a cohort of Africa Regional Carbon and Environmental Commodities Exchanges on the continent - now at various stages of being rolled out.

With the ongoing continental UNDP/UNFCC guided engagements on carbon and environmental commodities trading and regulatory mechanisms, the representatives of the Private Sector Stakeholder Groups have chosen Open Market Trading Platforms ( OMTPs) as the PPP intervention path which unlock Private Climate Finance and investment at scale - and delivers market Returns on Investment (ROI) and Impact Returns  (IRR) to the greatest number of Stakeholders Groups including much needed Sustainable Fiscal Jobs to the the endangered Habitat Custodian Communities.

In the search of scale and PPP frameworks, the Private Sector
Stakeholder Groups focus quickly narrowed down to Private Climate Finance and Investment - a space which could unlock and mobilize (on a credible timeline) the greatest number of participation from domestic regional and global homestead and institutional investments.

While Government / National teams have been largely focused on the
carbon mechanism regulations and the budget stressed Nationally Determined Contributions - NDCs, as well as the important task of avoiding the pitfalls of negotiated carbon trades with wholesalers seeking to lock up large carbon sinks at the lowest prices, the private sector stakeholder groups identified the need for trading infrastructure which concurrently reduces pricing risk as new and tradable asset class groups in the environmental commodities value chain are designed structured and introduced.

The joint UNDP mobilized teams also faced key need to

unlock the prevailing structural bottlenecks to the continent accessing Institutional, Homestead and Private Sector Climate Finance at scale.

SUSTAINABLE FISCAL JOBS FOR
THE ENDANGERED HABITAT COMMUNITIES

It also became clear that the OMTPs are the best guarantee for
Sustainable Habitat Community Jobs which break the cycle of poverty
amidst valuable natural resources in area carbon sinks - as they deliver
both market Returns on Investment [ROI] and Impact Returns [IRR] to the
the Domestic regional and global Climate Finance Investor Value Chain.
